USC, or Else…

Norco (Calif.) linebacker/athlete Jordan Campbell (6-0, 235, 4.68) still heavily favors USC. Oregon (offer), Washington (offer), Arizona State, Boise State (offer) and Fresno State (offer) trail the Trojans. He also has offers from Utah, UNLV, San Diego State and UTEP.

"A lot of my teammates waited through the whole (recruiting) process and felt they made the right decision in the end--so I'll probably do that too, unless USC gives me an offer--then I might commit early," Campbell said.

"Boise State and Oregon are recruiting me the hardest right now. Running back coach (Trent) Miles from Washington is always keeping in touch. The rest of the schools have just given me their offers over text messages.

"This weekend I am going to Arizona State's camp and next weekend to USC's camp. I've spoken with Coach (David) Watson, who is the defensive line coach this year at USC. He got to see me do a whole bunch of positions, so when I go to camp next weekend he is going to have a tight end block me and see if I can rush. He may recruit me as a fullback or defensive end--depending on what he sees.

"Coach (Mike) Price from UTEP runs a good program and had a good record last year--so they'll probably do just as well this upcoming season.

"This summer I am also going to B2G camp for four days for the top 65 football athletes of the state," Campbell said. "The first three days we practice our positions and then the fourth day, a sports newscast will be there.

"When it comes down to deciding on a school, I'm going to look at the depth chart and the higher classmen in my position to see where they stand. I am going to try to redshirt. If I don't come out my freshman year, then definitely my second year."

Campbell's bench press has improved to 395 and he squats 525.

He reports 2.7 core GPA and is awaiting his SAT results.
