Willie Griffin Profile

"I grew up liking Miami and Michigan," Griffin said. "I haven't really heard from Michigan in over a month, but they were interested in the spring. If either of them offered me I'd really start to narrow it down.

"The Notre Dame coaches came to my school about a month ago and said that they are interested and plan to look at me closely. They want to see how I do this season.

"My options are still really open. I'm still looking at a lot of schools and think I'll be getting a lot more offers. I want to have as many options as possible."

Griffin already attended camp at San Jose State on June 10-11 and California on June 16-19. He may also be going to the USC camp on June 26.

"Colorado is recruiting me the hardest," Griffin said. "I like their running game," Griffin said. "They put points on the board and run the I-formation a lot. I also like the offense at Oregon. Also, they recruit the Bay Area a lot and I just love the atmosphere up there."

Griffin's former teammate, Patrick Henderson, is a redshirt sophomore defensive back for Oregon State and has been offering a lot of advice. "He's a good friend," Griffin said. "He gives me a lot of advice. He told me to ask a lot of questions when I talk to the coaches and see how much they really want me. He says that a lot of people will be in my ear and that I need to stick to what I want and what I feel."

He reports a 2.7 GPA and a 1300 SAT.
