Hangin' High

Adolfo High School punter Bryan Anger (6-4, 190, 4.7), from Camarillo (Calif.), denies a leader but favors Washington (offer), Oregon (offer), LSU (offer), California (offer), USC, Notre Dame, Stanford and Oklahoma. "My best strength is hang time (recently hit a 5.24 at a camp). I just want to be more consistent in my quickness. I average 42 yards per punt," Anger said.

"I like Washington and Oregon for the same reasons. The coaches are friendly, the campuses are in nice locations with a good climate and a little bit of rain. They have strong football programs that are only improving and getting better. I haven't visited yet, so I'm going to try to get up to both schools by the end of summer," he said.

"I like LSU because it's like the USC of Louisiana. That area is all about football. Everybody there is a big, crazy fan. And I know the coaches are really on top of things just by the way they are recruiting me and communicating so often.

"Cal has a big, open campus near forest in the Bay Area. They have a great education program with a good math/science department--which I'll be majoring in. I visited in April and June; and the coaches treat everyone with respect," Anger said.

"USC is the top program in the nation, pretty much. I like smaller schools, and I liked how all the buildings were brick. The coaches were nice when I visited--twice during spring practice and to tour the campus and another time for camp in June. Their punter spot is already taken, though," he said.

"Notre Dame is a powerhouse program with great academics. They have one punter but he'll be leaving, so there would be an open spot for me.

"Stanford in one of the top schools for academics. I went in April and met the coaches. It's an extremely nice campus just overall, nothing specific," Anger said. "Oklahoma's program is strong right now and it's well-known. I haven't met the coaches or anything; I just know it's a powerhouse.

"I was going to try to commit by the end of summer, but I don't care if it takes me until Signing Day to decide. I'm looking for a school with high academics, so I can move on after punting, that is a winning program with nice coaches who are fun to be with."

Anger bench presses 210, squats 350 and vertically jumps 34".

He reports a 3.9 core GPA and a 1690 SAT.
