Harrington signs

According to the Associated Press, former Duck quarterback Joey Harrington signed a contract with the Detroit Lions in time to participate in training camp. No details were released about the contract, though Harrington did indicate the pact was for six years.

Harrington was the third overall pick in the 2002 draft. Harrington was the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year last season and led the Ducks to a 38-16 win over Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl and final number two ranking in the national polls.

Harrington ended his career at Oregon throwing for 6,911 yards and 47 touchdown passes. Harrington also rushed for 18 touchdowns
