All-America candidate Nicole Garbin and all-Pac-10 freshman goalkeeper Jessie Chatfield lead a group of 11 returning letterwinners from last season' 9-9-1 campaign.
This will be the first opportunity to see nine freshmen in action for the first time at Pape' Field. That group includes Eugene's own Rianna Mansfield. The freshman midfielder was named the 2005 Oregon prep player of the year after a stand-out season at South Eugene High School.
Other in-state Ducks on the roster include junior forward Tiffany Smith (Eugene), sophomores Taylor Callan (Portland), Jen Cameron (Tigard), Chatfield (Eugene), Adriana Montes (Eugene) and Allison Newton (Eugene), and freshmen Kara Beasley (Portland) and Megan Watson (Lake Oswego).
Oregon opens the 2006 season by hosting No. 28 Long Beach State on Aug. 25.
