NFL Ducks: Week 2 Pre-Season

The second week of the NFL pre-season saw more action for NFL Ducks including a rookie's first professional touchdown pass.

Clemens was 2-for-4, two yards and his touchdown pass was the only scoring throw by Jets quarterbacks in the 27-14 win. Clemens also rushed three times gaining a yard.

The Baltimore Ravens (1-1) beat the Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) by a score of 20-10 and two rookies from Oregon, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata and wide receiver Demetrius Williams saw playing time in the game.

Third-year Kansas City Chiefs receiver Samie Parker had a catch for 11 yards in a losing effort against the New York Giants. The Chiefs dropped their pre-season record to 0-2 while the Giants improved to 2-0. Parker's teammate Junior Siavii was still sidelined do to a knee problem.

Offensive guard Nick Steitz saw playing time for the New England Patriots (1-1) as they beat the Arizona Cardinals 30-3. The Cardinals are now 1-1 for the pre-season.

Both rookie running back Terrence Whitehead and veteran cornerback Rashad Bauman saw playing time for the Cincinnati Bengals (2-0) in a 44-31 win over the Buffalo Bills (0-2).

The Cleveland Browns evened up their pre-season record at 1-1 with a 20-10 win over the Detroit Lions (1-1). Running back Reuben Droughns rushed for 44 yards with a long of 27 on seven carries and had a pass reception for five yards.

According to the North County Times, quarterback A.J. Feeley was supposed to see playing time in the 4th quarter of the San Diego Chargers (1-1) game against the Chicago Bears (1-1). However Chargers' head coach Marty Schottenheimer did not put Feeley in the 24-3 loss saying, "the next (series) was going to be a mop-up thing, and I didn't want to take a veteran quarterback and put him in that role." Charger defensive end Igor Olshansky recorded two tackles (one solo that was a sack). Bears' tight end Tim Day saw action in the game.

Veteran Tennessee Titans linebacker Peter Sirmon recorded two tackles but the Titans (0-2) lost to the Denver Broncos, 35-10. The Broncos are now even for the pre-season at 1-1.

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end George Wrighster had a pass reception for six yards but the Jags (1-1) lost to the Carolina Panthers 17-10. The Panthers improved their pre-season record to 2-0 but defensive end Devan Long, who has been hampered with a groin injury did not play.

The Miami Dolphins (1-1) beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) on Saturday, 13-10. Dolphins quarterback Joey Harrington was 8-for-15 for 81 yards. His teammate Jason Willis had a catch for nine yards and tight end Justin Peelle was also on the game participation list. Meanwhile on the other side of the field, punter Josh Bidwell had three punts for a 48.7-yard average with a long of 62 yards and one inside the 20. Bucs Linebacker Wesly Mallard recorded four tackles and Justin Phinisee had a punt return for two yards. OLB Anthony Trucks also was listed on the game participation list.

Three former Ducks are on the San Francisco 49ers (1-1), Offensive lineman Adam Snyder, safety Keith Lewis and wide receiver Marcus Maxwell.Snyder did not play because of a biceps strain according to The San Jose Mercury News. Lewis and Maxwell both played in the game. The 49ers lost to cross-bay rival Oakland Raiders 23-7. The Raiders are now 3-0 for the pre-season.

The Seattle Seahawks (1-1) had an easy time of it with the Indianapolis Colts (0-2) in 30-17 win. Seahawk wide receiver Keenan Howry had a catch for seven yards. Running back Maurice Morris was in civilian clothes on the sidelined with an ankle injury according to the Seattle Times.

On Monday night quarterback Jason Fife is scheduled to see playing time for the New Orleans Saints against the Dallas Cowboys.
