Staying Neutral

Two-star cornerback Jamaine Olson (5-10.5, 165, 4.55) from Portland Jesuit (Ore.) still has only one scholarship offer from Stanford and he favors the Cardinal solidly over California, Washington and Oregon.

Jamaine Olson Profile

Olson attend camps at Oregon, Oregon State and Stanford, but hasn't scheduled any official visits yet. "When I go on my trips I'm gonna try to get a feel for everything," Olson said. "I want to live in a nice area and feel like I really fit in."

He says he will be attending the Oregon/Stanford game this weekend (September 2), but isn't tipping his hand as to who he'll be rooting for. "I've always loved Oregon and grew up watching them, but that doesn't mean I'll be rooting for them. I like Stanford a lot too. I'll try to stay neutral.

"Oregon has a really good program every year and they are only about two hours away," Olson said.

"I like Stanford because it's a big academic school and that's important," Olson said. "I want to get a good education. I haven't gotten to in-depth with them and I'm looking forward to taking my visit and getting to know everyone.

"Stanford is an up-and-coming program and I like the thought of being a part of something like that. They have a really young defense this year, so I'm sure it'll take a while before they all click.

"Washington has really good coaching and they are an up-and-coming program too," he said.

Olson plays his first game on Friday, September 1 against Mountain View High School in Washington.

He reports a 3.5 GPA and a 1500 SAT/possible Oct. 14 retake.
