The hit of the game went to J.D. Nelson when he forced a Stanford 4th by punishing Mark Bradford for coming across the middle as he layed him out with a wicked hit.
The Ducks scored on a 2-yard Jeremiah Johnson touchdown run at the 11:04 mark in the 4th quarter as the Ducks had the Cardinal down and out for the count.
Oregon 41, Stanford 10
Stanford once again drove down the field on what appeared to be a drive that would result in points but the resilient Oregon defense forced them into a field goal attempt. Jeremy Gibbs made another huge play and blocked the field goal attempt which A.J. Tuitele was able to pick up and take back for a 78-yard touchdown.
Oregon 48, Stanford 10
Both teams traded possessions to end the game in mop up duty as the Ducks blew out the Stanford Cardinal 48-10 in the season opener for both teams. The Oregon Ducks looked impressive both on offense and defense in the game as they prepare to take on Fresno State next Saturday. The game airs on ESPN2 at 7:00pm.
