Stewart listed as starter for FSU

Fans may have held their breath last Saturday when running back Jonathan Stewart left the game in the third quarter of the Stanford game, but today a media release from the University of Oregon reveals Stewart is scheuled to start this Saturday. The Oregon Ducks (1-0, 1-0) travel to Fresno, California on Saturday for a game with the Fresno State Bulldogs (1-0).

The game is the sixth time the two teams have met and Oregon leads the series 4-2 with the Ducks beating the Bulldogs 37-34 in Autzen Stadium last year. Mike Bellotti, 91-42 is in his 12th year at Oregon and could become the all-time winning coach with a win over FSU.

The Ducks defeated Stanford last Saturday, 48-10 in the season opener. Sophomore Jonathan Stewart rushed for 162 yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns. Junior quarterback Dennis Dixon threw for 236 yards on a 21-for-30 day with one touchdown. Dixon also rushed for one score. Junior Garren Strong was the Ducks' leading receiver against the Cardinal with six catches for 78 yards. Tuitele returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown and senior place kicker Paul Martinez kicked two field goals and six PAT's to complete the Oregon scoring.
