Two Ducks Named Player(s) of the Week

Two Oregon Ducks were honored by the Pac-10 Conference today when it was announced that J.D. Nelson and Paul Martinez were Pac-10 Player(s) of the Week.

J.D. Nelson was named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Oregon's 31-24 road victory over Fresno State.

Nelson recorded a game high 13 tackles (six solo) including one sack for minus 9 yards.

Also honored on Monday by the conference was place kicker Paul Martinez, who ran in the game winning touchdown after he received a pitch from holder Brady Leaf. The touchdown was Martinez's first in his football career.

Martinez also had a 38-yard field goal in the second quarter of the Saturday night game at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, Calif.
