J.D. Nelson was named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Oregon's 31-24 road victory over Fresno State.
Nelson recorded a game high 13 tackles (six solo) including one sack for minus 9 yards.
Also honored on Monday by the conference was place kicker Paul Martinez, who ran in the game winning touchdown after he received a pitch from holder Brady Leaf. The touchdown was Martinez's first in his football career.
Martinez also had a 38-yard field goal in the second quarter of the Saturday night game at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, Calif.
