The Ducks continued to outmatch the Vikings in the second half as the offense moved the ball seemingly at will while the defense was able to play fast and aggressive and put points of their own on the board.
On Oregon's first possession of the second half, a 35-yard toss to Jaison Williams from Dennis Dixon set up a long 48-yard field goal which Paul Martinez was able to knock through.
Oregon 38, PSU 12
The Duck defense was able to put up points of its own on the board on the night as well when A.J. Tuitele picked off a Sawyer Smith pass and took it 26 yards into the endzone. The remainder of the third quarter saw both teams trade off possessions as the Ducks were well on their way to a win and a 6-2 record.
Oregon 45, PSU 12
End of Third Quarter
Oregon scored quickly again after a Jairus Byrd interception gave the Ducks great field position. Paul Martinez was able to tack on 3 more as he knocked through a 35 yard chip shot.
Oregon 48, PSU 12
After several punt returns nearly went the distance, Andiel Brown finally reached pay dirt as he spun and juked his way into the endzone on the final score of the game on a 6-yard run. Freshman QB Nathan Costa would take over the quarterback duties for the remainder of the game and looked very poised while making solid throws and quick decisions, including a big catch and run to James Finley. The Ducks cruised to the win and defeated the Portland State Vikings 55-12, improving their record to 6-2.
Final Score: Oregon 55, PSU 12
