"If I had to choose..."

Four-star offensive lineman (ranked No. 21 by Scout.com) Darrion Weems (6-5, 265, 5.1) from Woodland Hills Taft (Calif.) has not set up any official visits yet because his team is about to start the playoffs. They are currently 6-4 and start their post-season this Thursday against Locke High School.

Darrion Weems Profile

Weems favors Oregon slightly over Florida, Nebraska and Colorado and all have offered. "If I had to choose right now it would be between Florida and Oregon," Weems said. "I'd say that Oregon is probably my number one choice right now.

"Oregon has been up and down this year," Weems said. "They've had a few games get away from them, but they are still a pretty good team. I talked to their offensive line coach (Steve Greatwood) after the USC game and he said that they just couldn't get it going. He said any time they had any momentum they would turn the ball over or commit a penalty."

Despite the Ducks being his top choice, Weems says that Florida is recruiting him the hardest. "They write and call a lot," Weems said. "They send text messages all the time and keep me updated on things."

Weems also says he has a good relationship with Nebraska's offensive line coach Dennis Wagner. "He's a good guy," Weems said. "I feel comfortable talking to him about everything. He says that they like my size and athleticism. He thinks I'd be able to help out and possibly play early.

"That's one thing I like about Colorado," Weems said. "They are rebuilding and it would be a good opportunity to play early. I talk to their coaches a lot and they really like me."

He reports a 2.7 core GPA and is waiting for his results from the November 4 SAT.
