First Look: Darius Sanders

There's a new Duck in town and he is anxious to catch up with the rest of the Oregon team. Darius Sanders is a 6-5, 228 tight end out of Lynwood High School in Los Angeles. Until a couple of years ago, Darius was much better known for his basketball exploits, than football, but his future now appears to be headed toward catching passes from Jason Fife, not Luke Ridnour.

Sanders arrived at his first practice Monday after waiting for clearance from the NCAA clearinghouse for quite some time. He will be Oregon's partial qualifier this year and will have three years of eligibility after serving as a redshirt this year. In addition, if he graduates on time, Darius can be granted an additional year to play. As it stands now, it appears that only Albert Toeaina will have to enroll at Oregon on a delayed basis from the 2002 recruiting class.
