Ducks drop 2nd straight loss

The Oregon Ducks dropped to 7-4 in the Pac-10 race when Aaron Brooks was unable to connect on a last second 3-point shot giving the USC Trojans a 71-68 win. The Ducks fought back from an 11-point halftime deficit and even led on two occasions, but paced by Taj Gibson's 18 points, the Trojans prevailed.

Oregon shot an icy 32.8 percent from the field on 22-for-67 effort, including 10-for-34 outside the 3-point line. Aaron Brooks was the leading scorer for Oregon with 16 points and was the game's leading rebounder with 9. Tajuan Porter added 15 to the Ducks cause while Malik Hairston chipped in 14.

USC shot a respectable 61.5 percent on 24-of-39 shooting (6-of-16 in 3-pointers). Four Trojans ended up in double figures. Besides the 18 from Taj Gibson, Nick Young had 13, Gabiel Pruitt added 12 and Lodrick Stewart had 11.

Oregon out rebounded USC 37 to 18.

The Ducks now are 19-4 on the year while USC improves to 18-6 and 8-3 in Pac-10 play.
