Oregon leads USC 37-24 at the Half

Los Angeles, CA – Oregon continued their solid play with a very effective first half against the USC Trojans in the Pac-10 Conference Tournament final. The Ducks lead 37-24 at the half behind solid all-around play from all five Oregon starters.

The Ducks continued their impressive defensive display of late with a suffocating effort in the first-half. The Trojans shot just 32% from the field on 10-31 shooting, including 2-9 from three point territory.

USC started the game strong by jumping out to a 7-2 lead. Oregon, however, answered back emphatically with a 13-0 run to take control of the game.

Malik Hairston, coming off of a 22 point effort in last night's semifinal, continued his solid play with six points and three rebounds. TaJuan Porter added seven including a three pointer to tie Orlando Williams for the all-time single season record in Oregon history.

Oregon shot 53% from the field in the first half on 14-26 shooting and were 4 of 10 from behind the three point line.

USC freshmen center Taj Gibson leads the Trojans with eight points and four rebounds.

If Oregon hangs on to win, it will be the 2nd Pac-10 conference title in the last five years under Ernie Kent, and the Ducks will earn the conference's automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.
