Spring Game To Benefit Local Food Bank

EUGENE – The University of Oregon will donate all proceeds from admissions to it's annual football Spring Game to Food for Lane County for the fourth year in a row, according to the Ducks' head coach Mike Bellotti.

The school's final football scrimmage of the spring will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in Autzen Stadium, with an admission of three non-perishable food items per person requested.

A year ago, the athletics department was able to donate over 15,000 pounds of food to the local food bank from proceeds of the annual Spring Game.

Parking in the Autzen Stadium east parking lot is free, with gates to open at 11 a.m. Access into the stadium will be available through the south and east gates only, beginning at 1 p.m.

Among the Oregon Sports Network radio affiliates broadcasting the game live will be KUGN (590 AM) in Eugene-Springfield, KXL (750 AM) in Portland, KCUP (1230 AM) in Newport and KZZR (1230 AM) in Burns. The scrimmage also will be televised live on Comcast Northwest Cable (Channel 14) and may be viewed live on the O-Zone via the athletic department's official website, www.GoDucks.com .

University of Oregon students also will have a chance to win free textbooks for a term, courtesy of the UO Bookstore, in addition to the afternoon featuring the recognition of athletic department fund-raising volunteers (DAF Volunteer Fund Drive Celebration).

The Ducks will divide the squad into two equal teams through a common player draft, with the White Team to be headed by first-year offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and the Green Team coached by defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti.
