Adrian Richards goes to Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas and his team scores bundles of points. The Skeeters finished 7-5 last year and averaged 28.5 points per game in Texas 5A competition. Richards had 50 receptions for 704 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Oregon Ducks popped into the recruiting season this spring when Oregon offensive coordinator Chip Kelly made contact with Richards and the Skeeter quarterback, Kelly Page. When Chip Kelly saw Richards during Mesquite's spring workouts, he urged the big receiver to not make quick decisions.
"Don't commit yet," pleaded Chip Kelly to Richards. "We'd (Oregon) like a chance."
It must have worked because Oregon has offered and are now in Richard's top five. Oklahoma State though is still the team to beat and is at the top of Richards' list along with the Ducks, Boise State, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Richards doesn't have a time line yet for when he'll decide although he definitely plans of visiting his top-5.
In the hunt for Richards
