Power forward/center Mitch Platt, 6-9, 225, has committed to Oregon after visiting the university's campus last weekend, according to sources.

Platt also considered Texas Tech, Arizona St., Utah and San Diego St. before choosing the Ducks.

Mitch is in his senior year at Green Valley High School in Henderson Nevada. Last season he averaged 12.0 points per game and seven rebounds per game. Prior to the start of the season, Platt was selected to Dave Telep's Top-100 list of national high school basketball players. TheInsiders.com rates Mitch three-stars.

Platt's older brother, Jeff, just completed his sophomore season at Chemetka (OR) CC. Jeff received some Division II offers from schools in the Northwest, but he is looking for a playing opportunity close to home.

Platt is the second Telep's Top-100 list player to commit to Oregon in recent weeks, joining point guard Aaron Brooks.
