Meet Frantz Dorsainvil

Frantz Dorsainvil is new to Oregon and all the attention that surrounds the Ducks' basketball team. He's so new that he asked for a critique of how he answered questions during an interview. The soft-spoken giant (6-8, 260) is a physical specimen that is going cause Duck fans to get really rowdy and noisy in Mac Court this year.

Frantz Dorsainvil was scheduled to be on the Ducks' 2006-07 roster but a problem with a visa held him up from joining the team. The Canadian citizen cleared the immigration problem last spring and has been working out and getting into shape in preparation for the upcoming season.

Known as a rebounder, Dorsainvil can also score as evidenced by his 10.7 points per game while he was at Vincennes University of Indiana. He was pulled down 7.0 rebounds per contest. While at Vincennes, he led his squad to a 26-6 record in 2005-06, shooting 52.5 percent from the field. He was a 64.2 percent free throw shooter having gone to the line 137 times and made 88. His career high was 25 and recorded four double-doubles.

In high school he averaged 18 points and seven boards per game at Elizabeth High School (Elizabeth, N.J.) and was the No. 15 rated player in the state during his senior year.

The Canadian was born in Haiti but moved to Montreal as a child. After leaving Elizabeth High School he attended Winchendon Prep in Massachusetts in 2003-04. He was a computer engineering major at Vincennes and speaks three languages but is undeclared at Oregon

Dorsainvil took time to talk to eDuck Sports about the upcoming season.
