Gasu is physically O.K.

Last week when eDuck Sports spoke to Santa Ana College defensive tackle Spencer Gasu, he indicated he had injured his shoulder earlier that day. Apparently though, if there was any injury, there isn't anything to it now. In fact, according to JCFootball.com, Spencer wanted to clear some things up. So today, eDuck Sports called Gasu's coach to find out where things stand.

According to Santa Ana Head Coach Geoff Jones, Spencer Gasu played both ways in Santa Ana's 23-17 win over Cerritos, so obviously there is no injury issue with Gasu.

However, whether or not Gasu was hurt or if he's given a verbal commitment may be a moot point because at this juncture Gasu needs to demonstrate he is on-track in obtaining his AA degree.

"He has lots of work to do in the classroom," said Jones of Gasu. "So the offer may not be very official (if Gasu doesn't get his AA degree)."

Jones indicated that if Gasu does complete his course work then he would be eligible for enrollment at a Division I college next fall.
