LaGarrette Blount, 6-1.5, 230, is a running back described by some as a larger version of Reuben Droughns, will choose by Wednesday where he will be moving on to.
Blount, rushed for over 1,100 yards this season and scored eight touchdowns (six rushing and two receiving) and has been hotly pursued by programs all over the country. Blount is from Perry, Florida and attended Taylor County High School.
Has Blount made a decision on where he will go to college yet?
"I'm still in the recruiting process," Blount said. "Oregon and Florida State are my final two, they are dead even."
Blount says that now it is a matter of sitting down and sorting out the various components that go into making a decision. He visited Florida State this last weekend and traveled out west to Oregon the week before.
How did his trip to Florida State go?
"It was nice, I liked it," said Blount of his trip to Tallahassee. "I was treated good by the coaches and players."
And his trip to Oregon?
"I loved it up there," commented Blount of his trip to Eugene on December 8th.
Blount says that he will decide by Wednesday (Dec. 19) the first day that junior college transfers can make their formal commitments. Both schools are on the quarter system and no matter where he decides to go he'll be in school in January and obviously available for spring workouts.
