4-Star WR Was In Eugene

B.J Vickers, 6-3, 200 pound wide receiver from Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice has mentioned several schools this year but we didn't hear Oregon mentioned much until now. Vickers took an official visit to Eugene over the weekend and said the Ducks are at the top of his list.

"I set up the visit pretty quickly but I had a great time," Vickers said. "I really like the coaching staff, the facilities are great and it's a great college atmosphere at Oregon. They pass the ball a lot and I like the young quarterbacks they have on the roster. Oregon impressed me a lot."

In previous conversations with Vickers, he always mentioned Michigan State, Texas and the Washington schools as his favorites but the Ducks are now right at the top.

"I don't know if I have a leader but my top three would probably be Oregon, Michigan State and (long pause), I'm not sure who the other would be, I like a lot of schools but those are probably my top two right now.

"I haven't set up any other official visits but I know I'll trip to Tennessee, Michigan State, Washington State and probably Washington. USC is high on my list too but I don't think I need to take an official there because I've been there so many times. I was just there last Thursday with my coach and our other receiver (Antoine Giddens) and I had a good time meeting with the coaches and seeing the school.

"I'm just looking for a place where I'm comfortable with the environment and campus life, an offense that likes to throw the ball a lot and a coaching staff that I'll get along well with."

Venice is 5-1 on the year and Vickers is doing some damage on the field with 31 catches for 754 yards (24.3 ave.) and five touchdowns. He has also rushed for four scores on the year.
