Yesterday we heard from a couple of people at Long Beach Poly (Calif.) that standout defensive lineman Junior Lemau'u had committed to Oregon. We caught up with Lemau'u before practice today to see if the rumors were true.
"No, I havne't committed anywhere yet," Lemau'u
said. "I've never even been to Oregon
before and I want to take a visit before I decide anything. Right now, Oregon and USC
are dead even and I want to take trips to both schools before I commit. I haven't set up any visits yet, I want to wait until after I take the SAT before I set anything up."
Lemau'u, 6-4, 240 pounds has had a very good senior season and is a borderline top 100 player. He's a tough, physical player with great energy and goes hard on every down.
We haven't caught up with Lemau'u's teammate Josh Tauanuu, also rumored to have committed, just yet but hope to do so later today.
Lemau'u is rated four-stars and is the No. 17 nationally ranked defensive end.
