Coach John Neal, who mentors the defensive backs at Oregon indicated to Kerry Lewis that an offer could be coming any day.
"Coach Neal said that they were going to try to get an offer out to me before school is out," said Lewis. "So today was the last day so the offer could come anytime."
Lewis started hearing from Oregon in February and the Ducks have really drawn his interest. Oregon graphics adorn his Myspace.com page. While he really likes the Ducks he has a number of schools that are pursuing him. He lists Oregon, Kansas, Kansas State, Texas A&M, Arizona, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, TCU, Oklahoma State and Iowa. KSU, Wisconsin Vanderbilt and Iowa have offered.
Lancaster was 6-4 last season and Lewis recorded 56 solo tackles and assisted on 49 other tackles. He had one interception and four fumble recoveries. He also returned a punt for a touchdown and averaged 17 yards as a punt returner.
In the weightroom, Lewis benches 265 pounds, squats 495 and has a power clean of 255 pounds. He also has a hand timed 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds.
Lewis indicated he would like to visit Eugene this July.
