Patterson talks about why he chose the Ducks

After the Oregon Ducks held a scrimmage inside Autzen Stadium, a new name was added to the future Ducks' roster. Avery Patterson, Pittsburg (Calif.) Pittsbugh High School gave a verbal commitment to the Oregon coaching staff.

"Can't be anywhere better than Oregon," said Avery Patterson.

Patterson had taken five other unofficial visits including California, UCLA, USC, Nebraska and SDSU. However, once he made it to Eugene he made up his mind.

"When I went there, everything was what I wanted," explained Patterson. "The family (atmosphere) the coaches, the facilities. Everyone was so upbeat."

Avery thinks his speed (4.35 40-yard dash) and quickness are his greatest assets. He also thinks that he can open his hips well, allowing good mobility.

Patterson is rated 3-stars and ranked as number 44 nationally at his position.
