Justin Roper sustained a concussion in last Saturday's game with Washington. Roper was accidentally kneed in the back of the head on the second play of Oregon's first possession. Roper was able to play of and throw for 114 yards including a 60-yard touchdown on a 7-for-14 performance. He also threw one interception.
The lanky quarterback from Buford, Ga. feels very positive about his condition and believes he'll play this weekend against Utah State. Coach Mike Bellotti said in his Tuesday media conference that he wants Roper to play in the Utah State game because Roper did not get enough work in against Washington last week.
Roper went through additional testing on Wednesday morning.
UPDATE: Roper returned to practice on Wednesday.
"I'm using it as long as I got it."
