Evensen Pac-10 ST Player of the Week

The Pacific-10 Conference today announced that Oregon place kicker Matt Evensen was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Purdue in Oregon's 32-26 double overtime win last Saturday.

In an announcement the Pac-10 said, "Evensen, a senior from Portland, Ore., played a critical role in Oregon's 32-26 double-overtime road win at Purdue. Despite very windy conditions, Evensen was perfect of four field goal attempts, connecting from 23, 21, 38 and 33 yards. The 38-yarder in the fourth quarter tied the game and the 31-yarder came in the first overtime. Evensen also connected on his only two PAT attempts and recorded three touchbacks on his five kickoffs."

Duck running back LeGarrette Blount was also nominated for Offensive Player of the Week according the media release.
