Oregon expects big recruiting weekend

Mike Bellotti indicated during his weekly media conference that during the course of this weekend a large number of potential student-athletes are visiting the campus of the University of Oregon on official visits.

The Oregon Ducks (4-2, 2-1) are taking on the UCLA Bruins (2-3, 1-1) this Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Prior to that time the coaching staff will meet with six high school players and a junior college athlete. Three of the visitors have already given verbal commitments to the Ducks.

The list includes:
DT Myles Wade
CB Travis Hawkins
OT Jeremiah Sirles
TE Anthony Anderson
S Alex Logan
OT Everett Benyard
CB Avery Patterson.

Wade, Anderson and Patterson gave verbal commitments earlier in the year. Wade had been part of the 2007 Oregon recruiting class but was unable to enroll at Oregon. Wade is currently attending Portland Community College and hopes to enroll at Oregon for Winter Term.
