Blount Ready to Run Straight Ahead

Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount doesn't claim to be the fastest running back in the country, however if you are the unfortunate defender that is standing in front of Blount as he is headed down the field, well you probably know how that's going to turn out.

LeGarrette Blount and his Oregon Duck teammates are working this week to take on the Golden Bears at Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of California.

Last week, Blount, 6-2, 235 scored two touchdowns against the Arizona State Sun Devils in a 54-20 Oregon win. This week, both the Bears and Ducks look at this game as a must win for the 2008 season.

"All we have to do is stick to our game plan, produce some yards on the ground, get the run game going then everything will fall into place," says Blount about the upcoming game.

For the season Blount has carried the ball 90 times for 650 yards (7.2 yard average) with a long of 72 yards and has crossed the goal line 12 times. With four games left in the regular season he has a great chance of joining the 1,000-yard rushing club. Blount is ready to put on a good performance and isn't concerned what kind of defense the Bears mount.

"I look forward to playing anybody, I don't care what kind of defense it is." confesses Blount. "That's just the kind of player I am."

Saturday's game with California will be carried live on a regional ABC broadcast starting at 12:30 p.m.
