As expected, Garren Strong, a 6-3, 190 pound wide receiver from Cupertino (Calif.) Homestead has committed to Oregon. Strong told us Sunday night he would likely commit during his home visit with the Ducks Tuesday night and that's just what happened.
"I like everything about Oregon and I knew I would end up there," Strong said. "I like the offense, the players on the team and the coaching staff a lot. They pass ball at Oregon and I know I'll be a good fit in their system."
Strong took his official visit to Eugene this past weekend and came close to committing on the visit but wanted his father to talk with the coaches first. He also took an official trip to Washington State and canceled visits with Oregon State and Washington.
"I would like to play right away but if I have to red-shirt, that's what I'll do," Strong said. "I'm looking forward to competing there and will do my best to get on the field."
