2010 Four-star Colorado QB Likes Oregon
Have you had contact with Oregon?
"I always get letters from them, like every week, so I know a lot about that school. I talked with the quarterbacks coach (Chip Kelly) through e-mail and he's the coach I've been in contact with the most."
Has Coach Kelly talked about a scholarship offer in your conversations with him?
"That's for them to decide. I think they are going to evaluate my film and see if the want to [offer]."
What would you say your overall interest level in Oregon is?
"Oh, I'm really interested in Oregon! They're a great school with great tradition and they have probably the nicest facilities in all the nation by far. So there are a lot of interesting things with Oregon."
What in particular about Oregon piques your interest the most?
"The football program in general piques my interest. The facilities are a great aspect, but that's not going to be a key part of picking somewhere [to play]. It's an attribute that goes with a great school."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"A very athletic pro-style quarterback is probably what I would say. I like to drop back and throw the ball. I play in a spread offense so I can definitely make plays with my feet. I'm not a player who is just going to take a sack, I'm going to make the most of that play and try to get as many yards as possible."
Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?
"At the collegiate level I would have to say Colt McCoy, because he's a great thrower and he's also athletic. I think he's more pass first, but if things break down, he can make a play with his feet."
What would you say you are looking for in a program?
"My main aspect is education because you've got to have something to fall back on, you can't just play football your whole life. Location, I've got to love the place I'm going to live for the next four or five years. And coaching staff. My relationship with the head coach, the assistant coaches, and the team."
Have you received any offers from other schools?
"Yeah, I have [official] offers from Cal, Stanford, Kansas State, Colorado, Colorado State, and Nebraska."
Is there anyone leading at this point?
"I can't say there are any leaders. I love all the schools right now that have offered me because I still haven't taken my official visits. I've taken a few unofficial visits which went really well, and I hope this summer to take more visits and narrow my list down."
If Oregon were to offer you an official visit, would you take it?
"Yeah. Oh yeah. Definitely."
Are planning on going to any camps this summer?
"Yeah, the Nike and Elite 11 [qualifier] at Cal and Stanford. Then the official Elite 11 if I get chosen. Right now in March, I'm going to Vegas for the [Badger Sport] National 7-on-7 tournament."
Are planning on going to any "Junior Days"?
"I want to make as many as I possibly can, but I haven't planned any yet."
