Oregon In The Mix For Meline

Booker T. Washington standout receiver, Ted Meline, boasts a number of offers from the nation's top programs going in to 2010. With more offers almost certain to come, the four-star athlete from Miami took some time to talk to eDuck about Oregon and his lofty interest level in the Ducks.



Do you currently hold an offer from Oregon?

"Yes."

What coaches from Oregon have you been talking to and how often do you talk to them?

"Chip Kelly...my phone [recently] got disconnected so I haven't had the opportunity to talk to him in a long time, but I want to call him [soon] because a lot of the Booker T. [Washington] kids are thinking about Oregon, so I want to get in contact with him."

When were you offered by Oregon?

"I think in December."

What would you say your overall interest in Oregon is at this point?

"On a 1 through 10 scale, it would be a 9."

What has you most interested in the program at Oregon?

"Their jerseys [and] the offense they run."

How would you describe yourself as a wide receiver?

"I like to go up for the ball and I'm not scared of going in to contact."

Are schools recruiting you at wide receiver or safety?

"Oregon wants to use me at receiver, but other teams want to use me at safety."

Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?

"[As far as] my speed: Ted Ginn, Jr. I feel like me and him have the same stride. [As far as] jumping ability, [I'm] kind of like Plaxico Burress or Randy Moss."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Everything. Education, opportunity to contribute...everything."

Do you have any offers from other schools?

"Georgia, Boston College, Alabama, Auburn...I've got a verbal [offer] from Florida...and also UCF."

Is anyone leading at this point?

"Right now it's a tie between Oregon and Georgia."

Are you planning on going to any camps this summer?

"No."

Are you planning on going to any Junior Days?

"I don't know, but I think I'm trying to come out [to Oregon] for an unofficial."
