Bishop Gorman Star Boasts Duck Offer
Do you currently hold an offer from Oregon?
"Verbal, but I haven't got it officially in the mail yet."
Who from Oregon extended the verbal offer?
"It was Coach Neal, I think."
Did Coach Neal say when that official offer might come?
"I think [he said] sometime in the spring."
How often would you say you're in contact with the Oregon coaches?
"I haven't talked to them that much. I have his number now, so I'll probably be calling him."
What would you say your overall interest in Oregon is?
"I took an unofficial there and it's real nice. I like all the coaches and the surroundings and everything. It was real nice."
On a scale of 1 to 10, where does Oregon rate for you?
"At about a 8."
Is there something in particular that stands out about Oregon?
"The coaches and the facilities are just unbelievable. Probably the nicest facilities I've ever seen and I think it would be a great place for me, I might get a chance to play early...I just like the whole thing."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"A big guy. Pass catcher. Someone who can make big plays after the catch. Always works hard."
Are you looking to play tight end or defensive end in college?
Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?
"[In college] Jermaine Gresham (Oklahoma) and Cornelius Ingram (Florida)."
What are you looking for in a program?
"Great coaching staff. Good program, good school. Good environment. Just a good place, a good fit for me."
What offers do you currently hold from other schools?
"I have official offers that came through the mail from Florida, Oklahoma, UCLA, Washington, UNLV, and Duke." *Note: Since Xavier and I spoke, he received official offers from Florida State and Texas A&M, as well as, a verbal offer from Oregon State.
Is there anyone leading at this point for you?
"I don't know think so. There will be soon...I'm still thinking about it and trying to do my top five and everything, but nobody's really leading right now."
If Oregon were to offer [officially], where would they stand among those teams?
"They would definitely be in my top four."
What would that top four look like?
"Probably Oklahoma, Florida, Oregon, UCLA."
In that order?
Are you planning on going to any camps later this spring or in the summer?
"I'm going to go to the Nike camp in California and I might do maybe a few college camps, I don't know yet, or I might just spend the whole summer working out."
Are you planning on attending any Junior Days?
"I missed a couple already. I [went] to UNLV's."
