Howard Holds Oregon Offer
Do you currently hold an offer from the University of Oregon?
"Yes. They had faxed one to one of my coaches."
Have you had contact with any coaches from Oregon?
"They'll come in to the school and talk to me and ask how my grades are, what position [I'll] play and stuff like that."
What would you say your overall interest in Oregon is?
"Real strong. I really like Oregon."
Is there something in particular that has you interested in the program?
"I like the coaching staff. They send me letters and stuff [and] they seem like a real good coaching staff. Like Oregon, it just fits me for some reason."
What position is Oregon recruiting you for?
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"On the field I give 100%. When you see me off the field, you wouldn't know that that's THAT guy on the field. In my work studies I give 100%. School work comes before sports. If I don't get my work done, I won't workout until I get my work done."
Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?
"Not right now I don't. I just want to work harder. I know I can be better than where I'm at right now if I just work harder and harder."
What are you looking for in a program?
"Basically, just like a family. Like a program that has great connections between the coaches and the players...that treat me like I'm at home."
Do you hold any offers from other schools?
"No. Arizona State contacted one of my coaches, talking about getting my d-tackle footage sent to them and they talking about me coming down there for a camp...Washington too [has shown a lot of interest]."
Is anyone leading at this point?
"Yeah I have a top three. It'd be Oregon, Washington, and USC."
In that order?
Are you planning on making an early commitment or are you going to wait?
"I'm going to wait a little bit. [I want] to wait and see what's all in store [for me].
Are planning on going to any camps later this spring or in the summer?
"Yes. Coach Ali (Howard's high school coach), he's getting me up to all these camps, but I'm not really sure which ones in particular that I'm going to."
Are you planning on attending any Junior Days?
"I don't know about that yet."
