Prater Ranks As One Of Nation's Best
Do you currently hold an offer from the University of Oregon?
"No, not right now."
Have you had any contact with Oregon?
"Yeah, I've got contact with Coach (Scott) Frost just over the weekend...I've got in contact with [Coach Frost] who said he has known about me for awhile. He has a lot of interest in me so I'm going to keep in touch with him from now on and see what's up with them."
Is Coach Frost the only coach from Oregon you've been in contact with?
Did Coach Frost mention anything about a possible upcoming offer coming through for you?
"He didn't mention anything [like that]."
What is your overall interest in Oregon?
"I'd say it's around medium. I know it's a really good school, you know, the Oregon Ducks, they're a really good school."
Is there anything about the program in particular that captures your attention about Oregon?
"I haven't really sat down and thought of Oregon like that. Right now, being a school, you've got to be interested in me, and I'm going to look in to that. Every school has their own swagger to it, so you never know."
How would you describe yourself as a receiver?
"I describe myself as a dual-threat wide receiver, being able to go deep and stretch the field and just be an overall player. [I] just catch the ball, take to the house...take a hitch and turn it in to a 90-yard touchdown...just being an overall type of receiver, everything to perfection, you know, routes and everything, speed, stretch the field, everything."
Would you prefer to play in a pro-style offense or a spread-type of offense or is the offense really even a factor for you?
"If you want to get NFL-ready, you would rather be in a pro-style offense, so I'd love to be in a pro-style offense."
Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?
"I'd probably compare myself to more of a Randy Moss/Calvin Johnson-type."
What are you looking for in a program?
"I'm just looking for a program that's stable. A program that has bowl history and a team that can get me academic-ready for the future and a team that can prepare me for the NFL."
What offers do you currently hold from other schools?
"I got [official] offers from Arkansas, Arizona, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, Purdue, Kansas, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, California, Nebraska, East Carolina, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Iowa State, and Virginia."
Is anyone leading at this point?
"Not at this moment. I'm going to really start breaking down my top schools in May because evaluation periods will start and some offers are still coming in from a lot of schools who are interested and schools I've got to look in to."
Are you planning on going to any camps later this spring or in the summer?
"The only camp I'm going to this summer is the Nike camp in Champaign, Illinois."
Have you been to any Junior Days or do you plan on going to any Junior Days coming up?
"I've been to Illinois' Junior Day, Iowa's, Notre Dame's, and I went to Northwestern's bowl practice earlier in November, but I'm planning on getting out this spring and checking out some spring games and spring practices."
Is distance a factor for you?
"Right now, it's just whatever school I feel comfortable with and me and my family feel comfortable with. We're going to make that decision and that decision will be final on my side...that's a big decision between me and my family."
