Scott Free Of An Oregon Offer At This Point

Four-star wide receiver, Kenneth Scott, of Colony High School in Ontario, California is the kind of physical, possession receiver that defensive backs lament lining up against. Fast and strong in the open field, Scott is certainly coveted weapon. With only a few offers in hand, Scott is eager to hear from more schools, including Oregon, who has two friends of his who are already on the team.

Do you currently hold an offer from Oregon?

Have you had contact with any of the coaches from Oregon?

"I've just sent my film out to Oregon like a week ago and I'm going to be giving Coach (Tom) Osborne a call to see if he has received it. [I'm going] to talk with him to see what's going on as far as recruiting and get a better feel of what Oregon is doing and all that stuff."

Has Coach Osborne just been giving you information about the school or about a possible offer coming up relatively soon?

"He's been giving me both...he's trying to see my film up there and that's basically it, he's evaluating right now...I would expect [an offer] to come soon."

What's your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I have interest in them. I mean, no college has a lead right now, so I keep the same interest in every college."

Is there anything in particular that catches your interest when you think about Oregon?

"The coaching and I like their offense and I like the coaches and that's real good. And their players are real cool."

Have you been on an unofficial visit to Oregon, yet?

"No, not at all. I have a friend up there, I have two of them. Walter Thurmond and Titus Jackson."

How would you describe yourself as a wide receiver?

"I would describe myself as smooth. I'm physical. Smooth, physical, a playmaker, and I like blocking too. I just love physical stuff."

Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?

"They say I smooth like Isaac Bruce and they say I catch like Larry Fitzgerald...they give me so many names, it's like crazy, they've been calling me a bunch of an article before they were saying I'm like a young Michael Irvin or whatever, because I have his body type."

What are you looking for in a program?

"I'm looking for great coaching. I want to walk in ready to play and [where] the all-around atmosphere is wonderful, basically where I feel comfortable at. That's it. Area is not a problem for me. It doesn't matter to me [either] about prestige, as long as I can get there and get a good education."

What offers do you currently hold from other schools?

"Tennessee (verbal) and Colorado State (official) far as other schools go, they are hinting that they're going to offer as I send my film out and when this May evaluation period comes, I think that's when my offers are going to start rolling in."

Do you have any leaders at this point?

"I don't have any leaders as of right now, I just want to go with the recruiting process."

If Oregon were to extend an offer, where would they rank among some of the teams you're considering?

"If Oregon were to offer me, I wouldn't really say [they would rate at] the top or bottom, I would just say they're in the middle."

Are you planning on going to any camps later this spring or in the summer?

"I'm planning on going to quite a few, but not any [concrete] plans, so I'm just going to try to get to as many as I can...I'm still sorting that out with my parents"

Are you planning on attending any Junior Days?

"As far as Junior Days, I might head up to USC this weekend and I know I'm going to head to one of UCLA's spring practices and USC's because they're local, but as far as out of state Junior Days, I will have to set that up with my parents because I always hear if you want to go somewhere fascinating, go to Oregon and I want to check them out."
