Will Bolden Take An Oregon Unofficial?

2010 four-star QB prospect, Robert Bolden, of St. Mary's Prep School in Orchard Park, Mich., boasts the kind of big time arm and athletic disposition that have scouts calling him, "the next Dennis Dixon." Even Bolden himself compares his skill-set to that of the legendary Oregon quarterback. Yet, before the anointing kicks in to high gear, Bolden has a senior season to play and decision to make.

Do you currently hold an offer from Oregon?

"Yeah, I got one a couple weeks ago."

Which coach from Oregon have you been in contact the most with?

"Coach [Chip] Kelly."

Was Coach Kelly the one to extend the offer?

How often would you say you're in contact with Coach Kelly?

"I mean we talk a lot. Maybe every other day or every three days or something like that. We talk a lot."

What would you say your overall interest in Oregon is?

"I don't know. I mean right I haven't made a top list of any schools that I would like, so just right now, Oregon is the same as any other school that would offer me."

Is there anything that captures your interest when you think about Oregon?

"There's a few things. They've got, first off, great academics. As far as football, they run a nice system and they win a lot of games. The quarterbacks that they produce are pretty good...Dennis [Dixon], you know, made it to the league. There's a lot of stuff about Oregon. They have facilities, their on-campus [experience] in general, everything."

How would you describe yourself as a quarterback?

"As a quarterback, I feel like I'm definitely a dual-threat guy. Second to dual-threat, I think a quarterback -- a good quarterback -- should be able to throw the ball...not be just an athlete. That's just a plus for me. I feel like I can do both. If everyone's covered, I feel like I can make something happen with my legs."

Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?

"There's a few guys that I look at. [Michael] Vick, when he was in the league. Dennis, I feel like I can do the same things he did. There's a few guys that I feel I can compare myself up to."

What are you looking for in a program?

"First off, my education. Somewhere where I can get in, get my education, and graduate and then as far as football, somewhere where I can go in, get in to that offense, maybe redshirt my first year and learn under somebody for a year and then the next year I'll be ready to go...somewhere where I can get in and play."

What offers do you currently hold from other schools right now?

"Right now [I have], Michigan, Michigan State, Central Michigan, Indiana, Colorado, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Duke, Wisconsin, Nebraska...there's a few others."

And no one is leading at this point, is that correct?

Is distance a factor for you, or are you willing to go anywhere if the fit is right?

"Yeah, whatever place I can get in and do whatever needs to be done, that where I want to go. Wherever or however far it is, it doesn't matter how far it is. If that's the best fit for me, that's where I want to go."

Are you planning on going to any camps later this spring or in the summer?

"Yeah, I'm going to a lot of camps this year. Actually, last year I did a lot too, but I'll probably do a lot bigger camps this year like the Elite 11, college camps that they hold on campus -- a few of those -- those are pretty much the main ones that I'm going to be going to...if it was up to me, I'd go to pretty much go to every school that has offered me because I could pretty much get in front of them and show them what I have to offer, but, you know, that's not going to happen with me running track right now. If I can get down there and get back for the camp, then I'd definitely do it."

Are you planning on attending any Junior Days or taking any unofficial visits?

"Actually, I've only been to two right now. I've been to Michigan State and I went out to Northwestern."

Do you have any plans to come out to Oregon for a Junior Day or unofficial visit?

"Yeah, actually me and Coach Kelly were talking about that, as well as my dad, whenever I can get down there. Like I said, with track it's kind of hard, but he told me I can get down there any time I could, so I would definitely like to do that."
