Distance Not An Issue For Boone

Wide receiver Kadron Boone of Ocala (FL) Trinity Catholic mixes a terrific blend of speed and power in his 6'1'', 195 lb frame. As one of the premier wide receiver prospects in the Sunshine State, Boone holds offers from schools spanning the nation, including one from the University of Oregon.

Do you currently hold an offer from Oregon?

"Yes sir."

How long ago did you receive that offer?

"I got it in the mail last month...it was a written letter."

Do you know which coach from Oregon offered you?

"I think it was [Oregon wide receivers coach] Scott Frost."

How often are you in contact with Coach Frost?

"Usually I try and get in contact with him at least once a week any good chance I get."

What is your overall interest in Oregon?

"Interest level, you know, I'm still learning more about them. I didn't know too much about them, but the more I talk to Coach Frost, I get to learn a little more about them."

Is there a specific thing that piques your interest with regard to Oregon?

"I mean [Oregon] throws the ball a lot and that's one thing that I'm looking for, you know with me playing receiver."

How would you describe yourself as a receiver?

"Physical. I'm a good receiver, but I'm fast. When DB's look at me, they think I'm just a possession receiver. I've got speed, I'm real aggressive, I love to attack the ball, and I love to play physical."

Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?

"It's kind of hard, I think it's kind of a mixture of all receivers."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Academics first. Good academic background, a place that graduates a good percentage of the football team. Number two, somewhere where I fit in. A good coaching staff, a receivers coach that I get along with and head coach. And third, somewhere where I can go in and learn the offense and potentially get some playing time as a freshman."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

"Right now either business or sports management."

Is distance a factor for you at all?

"Right now, I'm open. Distance is not a problem. Talking it over with my parents, you know, I'm looking for a school that fits me and they say if I'm comfortable then go for it, because I'm going to have to live with that decision for three to four years."

Do you have any favorites at this point? A top five?

"Top five, you know, I'm still trying to narrow it down. Right now I hold over 25 offers right now so right now I'm talking it over with my parents and we're still cutting it as we speak."

What are some of the offers that you hold from other schools?

"[Oregon], Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida, Notre Dame, Georgia, South Carolina, Duke, Clemson, Michigan, Louisville, FAU, FIU, USF, Tennessee, it's a lot."

Are you planning on going to any camps later this spring or in the summer?

"No sir, right now I'm done with camps. I think my performance last year coming off a ACL tear spoke for itself. So right now, I'm just in the weight room getting bigger, stronger. I'm still running, staying in shape, getting my speed up and getting ready for that next level. I think my performance spoke for itself. Not too many people can come off a ACL tear and have over 1200 yards receiving, 57 catches, and 18 total touchdowns."

Have you taken any unofficial visits yet or are you planning on taking any anytime soon?

"I haven't taken any visits yet. Right now I'm just trying to work in the schedule of my parents."
