On A Scale Of 1 To 10, Grasu Says 1000

Hroniss Grasu is a versatile player with the ability to play along the offensive or defensive line in college. eDuck Sports caught up with the Encino (CA) Crespi Carmelite lineman to discuss recruiting and his rather strong interest in the University of Oregon.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"No I don't."

Have you had any contact with Oregon?

"I've got like two letters from them."

Have you had any contact with any coaches from Oregon?

"No I haven't, but I would love to."

What is you overall interest in Oregon?

"On a scale of 1 to 10, uhh...1000 *laughter*."

What about Oregon has you interested in the program?

"The tradition of the football team -- like everyone's so close together -- it's a great school."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"My main thing is that I'm athletic for my size -- more than other linemen -- so I'll use my speed against them, or I'll use my knowledge of the game more."

Would you compare yourself to anyone on the collegiate or professional level at all?

"No, I really don't know who."

What are you looking for in a program?

"First of all academics -- I really want to major in business -- tradition of the program, and the coaching staff...that means a lot to me."

So business is something you would potentially like to major in when you get to school?

"Yeah, and I got a 1770 on my SAT."

What offers do you currently hold from other schools?

"I have offers from Nevada, Wyoming, and UNLV."

Are there other schools that are showing you a lot of interest?

"Washington, UCLA, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Washington State, Arizona, Oregon State, I guess that's it. That's who's recruiting me the hardest right now."

Do you have any favorites at this point?

"I don't have a top five, but if I did, Oregon would definitely be at the top."

Have you been to any camps this spring or are you planning on going to any camps this summer?

"I haven't figured that out with my parents. I wish I could go to every single camp I could, but it's pretty expensive."

Have you taken any unofficial visits or are you planning on going on any unofficial visits?

"I have. I took one to USC, UCLA, Arizona, and Washington...I really want to take a visit to Oregon, so I'll definitely look in to that."
