Burgess back from Oregon

TheInsiders.com caught up with Edwards (Calif.) Desert star Rudy Burgess, who just returned from his official visit to Oregon.

"It was a great visit, perhaps even my best visit," Burgess said. "I liked Coach (Mike) Bellotti a lot and I liked how the coaches and players interacted with each other."

Aaron Gipson was Burgess' host. "He told me that it's up to me as to how much I play right away. He said the coaches aren't afraid to put you on the field if you're ready."

Rudy is being recruited by the Ducks as a receiver. "I talked to Coach Ferrigno and with Keenan Howry leaving they like me like him, but I'm a little faster." Washington State and Oregon are now dead even in the hunt for Burgess. "They are neck and neck," he said. "I would give the trip a 9.5. The only negative is the weather, but you can't control that. The visit was really good."

He has one more official trip, to Arizona State, next weekend.

"Coach Doba (WSU) and Walker are coming to school tomorrow and Coach English (ASU) should be there too," Rudy said. "I'll probably make my decision the week after my last visit."
