As expected Josh Tauanu'u, a 6-2, 285 pound defensive lineman from Long Beach Poly (Calif.) has committed to Oregon. The talented lineman visited Eugene over the weekend and said he loved everything about the school.
"Oh man it was great out there," Tauanu'u
said. "I've always wanted to go to Oregon
and made up my mind about going there a long time ago but didn't want to officially commit until I got on campus to make sure I fit in there. I think I fit in great and with all the Polynesian players they have on the team, I felt like I was back at Poly.
"They have incredible facilities, the campus is beautiful and I just like how everything is set up from the dorms to the player lounge. I committed to them almost as soon as I got there."
Tauanu'u said he will now turn his attention from being recruited to being a recruiter.
"I'm going to try my best to get Junior (Lemau'u) to come with me," Tauanu'u said. "We've been best friends for a long time and have talked a lot about playing together in college. I know he likes Cal and UCLA still but I'm going to try and hard to get him."
