1. Garrett Embry had a very good day overall today. Coach Chip Kelly made a point of mentioning Embry's toughness after practice, and it appears he is developing more consistency catching the ball.
2. Tyrece Gaines completed his first full day of practice and had some great catches, most notably a leaping catch over a helpless defender.
3. In addition to Gaines, Lavasier Tuinei could be another big target in the redzone. Gaines height and leaping ability was on display during redzone drills. Tuinei skied over a corner to haul in a pass from Jeremiah Masoli.
4. Speaking of Masoli, he had a a pretty sharp competition day overall, but was picked off once by T.J. Ward, who returned the interception for a touchdown. The TD solidified the 99-77 (coaches' award points) victory for the defense.
