James Fine, As Practice Continues

The Oregon Ducks held practice again today and what may have been some worrisome news turned out not to be. At the end of yesterday's practice, running back LaMichael James walked gingerly off the field and caused many to believe something was wrong.

While LaMichael James was shaken up yesterday, he returned to the field today at full speed albiet wearing a wrap on his knee. Another concern was that LeGarrette Blount left practice early yesterday and was not there today. A spokesman for the athletic department confirmed that Blount had an excused absence. The Oregonian's John Hunt reported that Blount flew home due to a family matter.

Wide receiver Tyrece Gaines was moving as well as has all camp today and was sharp in running his routes. Gaines was catching virtually everything that was thrown his way.

The offensive line has been demonstrating far more consistency as of late in comparison to some shaky play last week. Today the line opened up some nice holes for Remene Alston, whom may have had his best practice of the fall. Alston appears to be rounding into shape after a foot injury during the spring workouts.

Linebacker Spencer Paysinger continued stellar plays in pass defense. Paysinger notched another interception during the 7-on-7 drills. Rover Marvin Johnson has also been playing quite well as of late as he is firmly in the mix for the starting rover spot along with Talmadge Jackson III, Javes Lewis and John Boyett. Johnson recorded a big hit today on Alston, which has been indicative of Johnson physical style of play.
