Ducks Horrible in First Half

Boise -- No matter how you slice it up, the Oregon Ducks were man-handled, out run, out passed, out coached and flat out played and trail the Boise State Broncos 13-0. Oregon failed to record a single first down in the first 30 minutes of play. Meanwhile, led by sophomore quarterback Kellen Moore, the Broncos did whatever they wanted.

Kellen Moore had 133 yards on 14-of-20 passing and one touchdown. The Broncos also racked up 52 yards of rushing on 28 carries. Moore hit Austin Pettis for the only touchdown of the game. The a play pulled out of the BSU trick bag had Moore converting for 2-points as bewildered Duck defenders stood watching.

About the only thing Boise State did not do was kick field goals as efficiently as they would have liked. Kyle Brotzman missed two field goals until he finally hit a 45-yard attempt to pad the 13-0 lead.

Oregon had a total of 11 yards of rushing but when LeGarrette Blount was caught in the endzone by Billy Winn, Oregon's running game was non-existent. Jeremiah Masoli was 2-for-10 for eight yards.

The biggest question at halftime was whether the Ducks would bench Masoli in favor of back up Nate Costa.

BSU had a total of 185 yards of offense in the first half including 15 first downs while Oregon had a total 14 yards.
