Kelly Happy with Ferras' Play

David Paulson has earned the right to play according to Chip Kelly said during a session with reporters on Sunday evening. Paulson has two catches for the season for a total of 38 yards. His longest of 22 was against Boise State.

Ed Dickson has been the forgotten man in Oregon receiving. The senior tight end, who may be the highest NFL draft pick of this particular senior class so far has only three grabs for the year for 51-yards and prompted Kelly to say that the Ducks must find "ways" of getting the ball into Dickson's hands.

As per his usual policy, there were no injuries to report. Spencer Paysinger left the game last night but is considered day-to-day.

The head coach was pleased with last night's play by the defensive line and said Blake Ferras had his "best day" as a Duck. Ferras recorded six tackles against Purdue (two solo and four assisted) including one tackle for loss and credit for half of a sack.

When asked about any similarities between Utah and Boise State, Kelly was quick to answer, "none, other than being out of conference opponents." Kelly believes the two programs have separate approaches to the game. Utah is Oregon's next opponent and is 2-0 for the season after beating San Jose State on Saturday, 24-14.

Something new on the Oregon sidelines last night was that the back-up quarterbacks were not used to signal in plays. Kelly indicated that he might or may not use the reserves to signal in plays in the future.
