Cake Walk in 1st Half

Eugene -- The first half of the Oregon-Arizona State game had more resemblance of varsity versus J.V. game and when Jeremiah Masoli found Ed Dickson with 7:08 in the second quarter to make the score 31-7 after the PAT, the game was a laugher. Unless something miraculously happens at halftime this should make Oregon 8-2 for the season.

The only thing that went wrong for Oregon in the first half was a fluttering pass from Masoli that was picked off by ASU's James Brooks at the Oregon 31. The Sun Devils were able to put some points on the board on the ensuing drive on a 4-yard run by Dimitri Nance. Other than that -- all Oregon.

LaMichael James started the scoring off in the first quarter for Oregon with 4-yard touchdown run that capped off a 59-yard drive in five plays.

James scored again in the quarter from 2 yards out in a drive that went 87 yards in eight plays.

James' third touchdown came in the second quarter on another 4-yard run. This time the score concluded a 26-yard drive in four plays that was keyed by an interception by Talmadge Jackson III.

The news for ASU was not good as starting quarterback Brock Osweiler left the game with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.

James led all rushers in the game with 116 yards on 10 carries. Masoli had 50 yards on four totes. The junior Duck quarterback also threw for 74 yards on 6-for-12 passing.

Nance was the leading rusher for ASU with 53 yards on 13 carries.

Oregon racked up 259 total yards in the first half (185 rushing) compared to ASU's 91.
