Ducks In Metoyer's Top Five

With highlight film as impressive as any wide receiver in the Class of 2011, four-star Whitehouse (TX) athlete Trey Metoyer is sure to make significant noise heading in to his senior season and next February. eDuck Sports caught up with Metoyer to get the latest on his recruitment, where it appears a Pac-10 team sits squarely in his current top five.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"No sir, I don't."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon?

"They e-mail me a lot and they send a lot of mail to the house and to the school; but more to the house."

How often would you say you receive e-mails and letters from them?

"Basically everyday. I get more from them than from anybody else."

Have you been in contact with any coaches from Oregon?

"I haven't really talked to any Oregon coaches. I haven't had the chance to talk to any. My dad has their number and I think he talked to them one time but that was it."

In the letters and the e-mails that you've received, has there been any talk of a potential offer coming through soon for you?

"No sir."

What is your overall interest in Oregon?

"It's good. They're one of my top five."

What is it that has you interested in Oregon?

"Well my dad had talked to the coach a while back and it really sounded like he's interested...I like they're school, but I haven't really gotten in touch with their offensive coordinator and talked to him and worked with him and how the receivers play. I haven't got to that yet, but I just really like Oregon."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'd say I have good hands, jumping ability, I run nice routes, my speed is getting faster -- I'm going to speed camp soon, so I'm working out -- I'm working on my footwork. I feel like I bring a lot to the table."

Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?

"Well some scouts kind of compare me to (Michael) Crabtree, but that was it really. I really don't compare myself to anybody else."

What are you looking for in a program?

"I'm looking for what kind of offense, spread. I'm looking to go in there and play and not to get redshirted or anything; I'm trying to play right away. I'm looking to see if their coaching staff is never can tell, but I'm just looking for a good relationship and does it feel like home. I'm making a commitment for three or four years, so I've got to be comfortable there too."

What offers do you hold from other schools at this point?

"I've got Texas Tech, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Ole Miss, and LSU."

Do you have any leaders at this point? A top five?

"Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, LSU, Arkansas, and Oregon."

Are you planning on going to any camps later this spring or in the summer?

"I'm going to be attending some Junior Days coming up. I guess Ole Miss is next month...Oklahoma is on the 7th (of March) and LSU is on the 27th (of March)."

Have you taken any unofficial visits yet, or are you planning on taking any unofficial visits?

"Yes sir. I'm supposed to talk to Ole Miss (about a visit)."
