Speedy Holloway Awaiting Duck Pledge

They call Florida the "Speed State" and without a doubt, Cape Coral (FL) three-star athlete Prince Holloway represents it well. Despite being undersized, Holloway is one of the fastest players in Florida and he's beginning to see his recruitment take off. With aspirations of playing either wide receiver or corner at the collegiate level, eDuck caught up with Holloway recently to get the latest.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"No, not yet."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"I was talking to them earlier this year, but since football's been coming up I haven't really been calling too many people. I might call them later throughout the spring."

Have you talked to any coaches from Oregon?

"Yes. Coach (Scott) Frost."

How often have you spoken with Coach Frost?

"I used to speak to him like once or twice a week."

Has that tapered off some recently?

"Sort of."

Is Coach Frost the only coach from Oregon whom you've spoken with?

"Yeah, that's the only coach I spoke with from Oregon."

What is your overall interest in Oregon right now?

"Real good because Oregon is a nice school, they got a great program, they pass the ball a lot and whatever they would need me to come in and do, that's what I'm gonna do."

What is it about Oregon that stands out to you?

"(Laughter) Their uniforms. That caught me. If you look good you're gonna play good and that's my thing; if I look good, I feel better and I'm gonna play good."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'd describe myself as a player that plays smart and fast at the same time and I'm real confident."

What positions are most schools looking at for you?

"Wide receiver and cornerback."

Do you have a preference as to which position you'd like to play?

"No, I'm just working at both. It's depending on my size, but I prepare for both sides of the ball."

Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?

"No, not really. Only if I'm talking trash to a player then I see myself as DeSean Jackson or something."

What are you looking for in a program?

"I'm looking at how long the coaches are going to be there, what type of offense they run, how the players are and if I can build chemistry with the players and the coaches."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study once you get to college?

"I'm thinking about Zoology."

What offers from other schools do you currently hold right now?

"I have offers from Western Kentucky, Michigan, I spoke to Iowa State today and they came down and watched me practice, so I should have one from them based off how I practiced today. But those are the only two that I have so far."

Is there a top tier of schools out there for you or a group of schools that you'd really like to hear from?

"It's not a needy thing for me. Whatever school that believes in grabbing a small receiver or someone who could come in and play wherever they (the school) wants, that's what school I want to be at. There's not one particular school where it's like, 'I want them!' It's just got to be a school that I like."

Have you been or are planning to take any Junior Day or unofficial visits?

"I'm planning on going to a couple up North schools because I've already been to a lot schools down South...I took a visit to Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida State, and South Florida. The schools that offer me are the ones that I'm planning on taking up North."
