Husky Commit Bigelow Has Ducks In Top 5

Despite an ACL tear that sidelined him during his junior season, Fresno (CA) Central High East four-star running back Brendon Bigelow enters his senior year as one of the most electrifying running backs in the country, as his breathtaking speed and agility is what separates him from the fold. While he remains a verbal commit to Washington, Bigelow is courting the likes of Oregon, Cal and others.

As of right now, you're still a verbal commit to Washington, is that right?

"Yeah, that's right."

Do you still have plans to take official visits during the football season?

Do you currently have a scholarship offer from Oregon?

"Yeah, I do."

What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?

"I actually talked with the head coach (Chip Kelly) during the school day and stuff and we talked about me coming up there for an official visit and stuff. And one of my current teammates too, B.J. Kelley, he wants both me and him to come up for an official visit. Other than that, that's just been it."

Have you discussed any specific visit dates with Coach Kelly yet?

"Not yet."

Have you been in contact with any other coaches from Oregon?

"I've been talking to the running backs coach too, (Gary) Campbell. He's a good guy."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I want to get to know all of the coaches and stuff and establish a great relationship with them and see their academic stuff too. I'm real excited to actually get up there and see what they have to offer."

Is there anything in particular about Oregon that captures your interest in them as maybe a potential option?

"It's the people. Not only that, it's the school. It's a great, great school and they have a lot of big-time players that come out of there."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I'm a hard working guy and I get the job done...I just like giving it my all during the games. I'm very productive."

Is there a player at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?

"I like Brian Westbrook. He's a great player. Hopefully some day I'll be able to get up there. I'm getting ready for this year, my season, my senior season."

What are you looking for in a program?

"As far as the coaches, I want to know if I can fit in to their offense and how they're using me in their offense and stuff like that. Not only that, I want to know if I can actually stand the coaches and actually be able to work with them."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to study when you get to college?

"Everybody's been asking me the same question. I'm just gonna wait until I get to college to make that decision. Maybe business or what not -- I'm kind of leaning towards business -- but we'll see what happens when I get there."

What are some of the other offers that you have right now?

"I have one from Notre Dame, Cal, UCLA, USC, all the schools like that...what else? Arizona...I can't name them all off the bat (laughter)."

You're still committed to Washington, but outside of them, do you have a top five, top ten or anything like that?

"I have a top five. My top five kind of at this moment right now would have to be Washington, Cal, Oregon, Tennessee, and Notre Dame. That's my top five, but I'm still in the process of getting to know everybody and we'll see what happens."

Is that top five in order?

"It's sort of in order, but we'll see what happens if it changes. I'm still trying to get to know everybody."

Have you taken any unofficial visits and do you have any planned for the summer?

"I haven't taken any as of now, but the ones that I have so far right now are: I'm taking a Tennessee visit, I am taking an Oregon visit for sure, Washington, Cal, maybe Notre Dame, but we'll see what happens."
