FOS FRIDAY TAILGATE: PSU Football & Phillies

Join Keith Conlin and company at the Lions' Den in downtown State College Friday from 6-9 p.m. to talk about the Nittany Lions' homecoming game with Illinois. The MLB playoff game between Philadelphia and Cincinnati will be on the flat screens.

We love a parade.

But there are a few things we love even more on Friday evenings in Happy Valley, and they include talking Penn State football with former players, fans and media types, enjoying inexpensive drinks and pub grub, and watching the major-league baseball playoffs.

If you are with us, be sure to stop by the Lion’s Den in downtown State College this weekend for our special Homecoming Edition of the Fight On State Friday... Night Tailgate.

Former Nittany Lion All-Big Ten tackle Keith Conlin and FOS editor Mark Brennan play host to the event, which kicks off at 6 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. (and beyond).

Besides having the chance to talk PSU football with former players, media types and fans in a laid-back atmosphere, there is a special bonus this week.

The Den will also being showing the Philadelphia Phillies National League playoff game, which starts just after 6 p.m. If you’ve not been back to The Den lately, it has been completely remodeled in recent years and now features banks of flat-screen TVs inside and on the covered outdoor patio.

So if you are coming into town for Penn State’s homecoming showdown with Illinois, be sure to kick off your weekend in style at the FOS Friday Night Tailgate.

Not sure how to get to The Den?

It is easy to get to at 118 South Garner Street in downtown State College.
